Using Wool Dryer Balls
Do they help with pet hair?
Our wool dryer balls work well in cleaning pet hair from fabric. It’s very simple, place a hairy item into the dryer by itself with the wool dryer balls and run the air setting for 10 minutes to an hour, going longer for big items or ones that have collected a lot of hair.
At the end of the cycle, take the item out and shake vigorously to throw off any last stragglers. The dryer should have loosened most of the hair from the surface of the fabric. If not, clean your lint trap and give it another 10 minutes, repeating as needed. When you’re happy with the level of hair removal, wash the item as you normally would.
Why use wool dryer balls instead of plastic or tennis balls?
PVC and tennis balls are made of plastic material. These include synthetic materials that are stable at low temperatures but traditional burnt plastic scent will emit harmful chemicals after heating. This not only collects on your clothing and towels, but also coats the dryer and dryer air ducts. It limits the life of your dryer, producing deposits of toxic contaminants that melt and settle on your next laundry load. You expose yourself and your loved ones to a needless source of potentially hazardous chemicals by using plastic balls or tennis balls in your dryer.
Wool dryer balls are also smoother and easier on materials than plastic dryer balls with pointy nubbins.
